Gregorian
Chant: The Service of Compline
The ancient monastic
service of Compline is the last of seven daily services before those
in religious orders retire for the night.
The service of Compline
is sung every Sunday evening at 9:30 from January through November.
On some evenings it is sung by the Men's Schola, on others by the Women's
Schola, and sometimes by the combined Schola Cantorum.
Those who have experienced
Gregorian Chant in the context of Compline find that its quiet, meditative
nature is the perfect way to end the day.
