I attended a remarkable conference 10 days ago in Cincinnati called Connecting for Community. You may recognize some of the names of the main speakers; Peter Block, John MckNight, Walter Brueggeman, and Peter Koestenbaum. This conference may just have changed the world.

For some time I’ve been wondering what God’s Shalom, God’s Kin-dom might look like here on earth in 21st century, and very importantly what we are called to as children of God to do and be to make God’s Shalom a reality.”

Godspell Rehearsal

Spirituality of Sacred Writing (2)
 

SUNDAYS APRIL 22 – MAY 27, 9:15am
TUESDAYS APRIL 17 – MAY 29, 7:00pm

  

Over the course of this coming year, Christ Church Cathedral will explore the spirituality of the sacred writings of the Bible.

The Sunday morning gatherings will focus more on the Who, What, When, Where, and Why of selected passages within the Bible. The Tuesday nights will go into more sustained inquiry around texts and themes. In this second set of weeks we will examine Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.

May 15th – Leviticus (Sacred & Profane, Religious Taboos)
May 20th & 22nd – Deuteronomy (Jubilee/Sanctuary)
May 27th & 29th – Deuteronomy (Choosing Life and Choosing Death)

Forty Minute Forums 

June 3-June 24, 2012   

A chance to engage with intelligent and articulate people who have something entertaining, stimulating or challenging to say to Cathedral parishioners and friends. Our diverse speakers are from: the arts, including drama, writing, television, film; government and politics; religion; education; notfor-profit organizations; etc. Free admission, free beverages. Sundays, 9:15AM, in the Park Room.
